Host a Pride Cup

LGBTIQ+ Inclusion Education for your club

The power of Pride Cup comes through its education programs, which have the ability to breakdown barriers, smash stereotypes, and change hearts and minds.

Build confidence to intervene

Clubs have the confidence to host a successful activation because they have the skills and information to respond to questions from parents or supporters and handle objections.

Learn how to be inclusive

Participants are able to provide a more comfortable and inclusive environment for LGBTIQ+ participants, because everyone involved in the club has a shared understanding of how to be inclusive.

Smash stereotypes and stigma

The Pride Cup education session also benefits the broader community through countering stigma and misunderstandings of LGBTIQ+ people. This ripple effect is what makes hosting a Pride Cup or PrideRound event so powerful.

A lot of our attendees were shocked at the stats presented in the education session, and are committed to making sure everyone feels welcome at MRTC. I genuinely think this experience will change the morale of the club, and we will keep working to be seen as a safe space for all LGBTQIA+ community and allies.

Pre-event education

Through player education and community engagement, each Pride Cup harnesses the power of sport to transform attitudes beyond the playing field and create ripple effects into the local sporting community and hopefully their external environment.

Aims

The aim of the Pride Cup education program is to explore and tackle the current climate and attitudes towards LGBTI+ inclusion within Australian community sporting clubs and equip your club with the tools to challenge discrimination.
