A message from Pride Cup, Proud2Play and Pride In Sport:

We have worked hard to develop programs, education, and policies that make the clubs we work with welcoming places to be for all LGBTI+ people. Thousands of people across Australia put a lot of hard work into making their sporting environments safer and more inclusive – people who understand that supporting women’s sport means creating environments free from discrimination, where all women are welcome to play and be their authentic selves.

If politicians really cared about women’s sport they would be talking about the real obstacles and concerns that exist, such as inadequate facilities, pay inequity, a lack of resources, unequal airtime on tv broadcasts, institutional harm, and fewer elite pathways. But instead, they are using cisgender women as a weapon against the trans community.

It’s time for us to come together as a sporting community and show our leaders what it actually means to support women’s sport.

Sign up at Equality Australia to receive a copy of our posters and join the players, clubs and allies standing up to these attacks to show what supporting women’s sport really means.

In solidarity,

Pride Cup, Proud2Play and Pride In Sport.
