In 2024, over 40% of LGBTQIA+ youth have experienced discrimination in sport—a staggering number that shows how far we have to go to make sport safe and welcoming for all.

At Pride Cup, we believe sport should be a space where everyone feels safe, celebrated, and free to be themselves—whether they’re playing, coaching, or cheering from the sidelines. That’s why we’re participating in GiveOut Day, Australia’s only national day of giving to LGBTQIA+ organisations, to help raise critical funds to continue this work.

Why GiveOut Day Matters

GiveOut Day is a unique opportunity for the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies to support organisations working towards equality and inclusion. Despite the growing need for LGBTQIA+ initiatives, our community receives only 5 cents in every 100 philanthropic dollars—that’s just 0.05% of all charitable giving. Our goal this year is to raise $12,000 to help us bring Pride Cup to 50 new clubs in 2025—providing them with the tools, education, and resources needed to transform their sporting environments into safe, welcoming spaces for everyone.
