14 May 2026 – PrideGames are a celebration of the LGBTIQ+ community and an evidence-based way of creating lasting cultural change in sport. They are also a commitment to meeting people where they’re at, bringing clubs, players, and communities along for the journey, and recognising that cultural change is not linear.
St Kilda FC and Sydney Swans have both played an important role in the growth of PrideGames in the AFLM, and this change for the 2026 season will be felt by many. Pride Cup will continue to work with the Saints, Swans, and the AFL to show up in ways that genuinely learn from and uplift LGBTIQ+ communities.
Seeing a fourth AFLM team participate in their first PrideGame is incredible. Pride Cup welcomes the Western Bulldogs to the growing number of men’s teams across the country choosing to live their values of inclusion and belonging. The Bulldogs have an incredible track record through their AFLW PrideGames and a flourishing LGBTIQ+ supporter group in Bulldogs Pride. We look forward to seeing what they bring to the SCG in July.
This weekend, we will celebrate Sir Doug Nicholls Round, a powerful recognition of First Nations peoples and cultures to the game and across the continent. Out of respect for Sir Doug Nicholls Round, and the people it honours, we will not be making further comment until after its conclusion.
